Personalized Support for Lasting Change

Psychotherapy offers a safe, supportive and confidential environment where you can explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Together, we'll work toward greater clarity, resilience and emotional well-being.

My Approach

Psychotherapy is more than a space to talk about the past; it is an opportunity to better understand yourself and create meaningful change. While our early experiences and childhood relationships often shape how we see ourselves, connect with others and respond to life's challenges, they do not have to define our future. Through compassionate exploration, including inner child work when appropriate, we gently address unresolved wounds, recognize long-standing patterns and heal old wounds. Together, we focus not only on healing what has been carried for so long, but also on building a positive future.

My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself today and create a future that is not defined by the wounds of the past.

My purpose is to help you regulate your nervous system so that you become more present and available to the current moment. In the end, it is the present moment that truly exists. Everything else is either a memory or our imagination.

FAQ

Find answers to common questions about psychotherapy, our services, and what to expect when starting therapy

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy, often referred to as therapy or counselling, is a collaborative process that helps individuals better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and life experiences. Through conversation and evidence-based approaches, psychotherapy can help you navigate challenges, build coping skills, improve relationships, and support your overall mental well-being.

Is psychotherapy a regulated profession?

Yes. In Ontario, psychotherapy is a regulated health profession. Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) are governed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and must meet professional standards, maintain ongoing education, and adhere to a strict code of ethics.

Is therapy covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for psychotherapy services. Coverage amounts and eligible practitioners vary by provider and plan. We recommend reviewing your benefits package or contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your coverage details.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is important, and information shared during therapy is kept confidential. There are a few exceptions required by law or professional standards, including situations involving risk of serious harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, a court order requiring the release of records, or certain professional consultation and supervision requirements.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy varies depending on the type of service and session length. Fees will be discussed before treatment begins so you can make an informed decision about your care. If you have questions about fees, insurance coverage, or payment options, please contact us directly.

Is therapy effective?

Research shows that psychotherapy can be highly effective for many mental health concerns and life challenges. Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, and personal growth. The effectiveness of therapy depends on several factors, including your goals, commitment to the process, and the therapeutic relationship you build with your therapist.

What do therapy sessions look like?

Every therapy experience is unique, but sessions typically involve open, confidential conversations about your concerns, goals, and experiences. Your therapist may help you explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, identify patterns and challenges, develop coping strategies and practical tools, set meaningful goals, and build skills to support long-term well-being.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Contact us by phone, email, or through our online contact form to schedule an initial consultation or appointment. During your first session, you and your therapist will discuss your goals, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. Together, you'll create a plan that supports your needs and well-being.
